About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented Image Annotation Specialist to help label and annotate
imagery datasets, including satellite and aerial imagery. You will work primarily in CVAT
(Computer Vision Annotation Tool) and use basic GIS tools to support geospatial annotation
tasks. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys precise, focused work and wants to
contribute to real-world AI and mapping projects.
What You Will Do
- Annotate images using CVAT — drawing bounding boxes, polygons, and labels on objects in photos and satellite imagery
- Work with satellite and aerial images to identify and mark geographic features such as roads, buildings, parking and vegetation.
- Follow annotation guidelines and labeling instructions provided by the team
- Maintain consistent quality and accuracy across annotation tasks
- Flag any unclear or ambiguous images for team review
- Submit completed work within agreed time frames
What We Are Looking For
Required:
- Comfortable using computers and web-based tools — no programming required
- Good attention to detail and patience for repetitive precision tasks
- Ability to follow written instructions carefully
- Basic familiarity with maps or satellite imagery (e.g. Google Maps, Google Earth)
Nice to Have (not required):
- Previous experience with CVAT, LabelImg, or any other annotation tool
- Exposure to GIS software such as QGIS or ArcGIS
- Background in geography, remote sensing, or a related field
- Experience working with datasets for machine learning or AI projects
